Best times to post
The days and hours your audience is most active, in Analytics and in the editor.
Best times to post tell you which days and hours your audience is most active, so you can schedule when the most people can see your posts. They're included in the paid plans.
Where you see them
- In Analytics: the Best times to post card shows a heatmap with the seven days of the week and the 24 hours. The stronger the colour, the better the hour. The top five, at most one per day, are outlined and listed underneath.
- In the editor: under When, below the day and time, up to four Best times: buttons appear. Press one and the editor sets the next day of the week with that hour.
Hover over a square in the heatmap to see its score from 0 to 100.
Where the data comes from
- When your followers are online: Instagram reports how many followers are online each hour. Coolposts uses the last 28 days.
- How your posts did: the engagement (likes, comments, shares and saves) against the reach or views of what you published in the last 90 days, at the hour it went out. Stories don't count.
With Instagram connected, when your followers are online counts the most, and your posts adjust it a little more the more of them you have. Without that Instagram data, only your posts are used. Under the card's title you can see which data it's using.
If you see nothing
The card stays empty until Instagram sends your followers' data or until you have a few posts with numbers. See Connect your social accounts.
Time zone
The hours are in the brand's time zone, the same one the calendar uses. You can see it under the card's title.
