Website analytics

Add one line to your site to see its visits and where they come from, without cookies.

With one line of code on your site, Coolposts counts its visits and tells you where they came from, and shows them in Analytics next to your social numbers. It uses no cookies and doesn't store IP addresses.

Add the tag

  1. Open Channels and, under Connect a channel, find Website. (It's also in the Website block in Analytics.)
  2. Press Get the tracking tag, then Copy.
  3. Paste the tag before </head> on every page of your site. WordPress, Shopify, Wix and Squarespace have a header setting for it.
  4. Open your site. When the first visit arrives, Coolposts shows Receiving visits and your domain.

Each brand has one website. Once it's receiving visits, it shows under Connected channels with its last visit: press Tag to see the tag again or Remove to stop counting visits. Past visits stay in Analytics; take the tag off your site too.

What you see in Analytics

The website shows as one more channel under Channels, and further down it has its own Website block for the period you pick:

  • Visits, Visitors, Page views and From social, with the change against the previous period when Compare is on.
  • A chart of visits per day.
  • Top pages, Sources (social networks highlighted), Countries and Devices.

How it counts

  • A visit is the page someone arrives on from outside. Pages they open afterwards on your site count as page views of that visit.
  • Visitors are counted per day: the same person on two different days counts twice.
  • The source comes from the link's utm_source, from Coolposts short links, from the app it was opened in (such as Instagram) or from the referring site. If there's none, it's Direct or unknown.
  • Bots aren't counted.

Sales and sign-ups

The same tag reports conversions from your Coolposts links: on a sign-up or sale, call coolposts.convert(value). It needs Track conversions turned on in Bio page → Short links, part of the paid plans.

You can add your website to client reports.
