Reels and Stories

Views and watch time of your Reels, and taps, exits and replies on your Instagram Stories.

The Reels and Stories block in Analytics shows how much your Reels are watched and how people move through your Instagram Stories.

Where it is

  1. Open Analytics and pick the period.
  2. Scroll down to Reels and Stories. It shows when the brand's Instagram account has Reels or Stories in the period.
  3. Switch between the Reels and Stories tabs. Each tab shows how many there are.

Reels

Every video published on Instagram in the period, from Coolposts or straight in Instagram.

  • Views: all Reels added up.
  • Average watch: how long each view lasts on average.
  • Total watch time: all the time people spent watching your Reels.
  • Engagement: likes, comments, shares and saves, and the share of people reached who engaged.

The table gives the same figures for each Reel, plus reach and rate. Click a Reel to open it on Instagram. If it says numbers soon, Instagram hasn't reported them yet.

Stories

Stories posted from Coolposts or straight in Instagram. Instagram keeps a Story's numbers only while it's up, so Coolposts reads them every hour for its 24 hours and keeps the last reading.

  • Average reach per Story and Replies.
  • Taps forward and Exits, with the share of people reached.
  • In the table, Forward and Back are taps to the next or previous Story, and Next account is a swipe to someone else's Stories. You also see shares and profile visits.

A Story marked Live is still up and its numbers are still changing. Not read in time means Instagram stopped sharing its numbers before Coolposts could read them.
