Post approvals
Editors send posts for approval; owners and clients approve them or ask for changes.
With approvals, a post doesn't go out until someone has reviewed it and said yes. It's useful when an editor prepares the content and you, or your client, want to see it first.
Who sends and who approves
- Editors send posts for approval. They can't approve them.
- Owners and clients who can see the brand approve posts or ask for changes.
See Team and roles to invite people and give them a role.
Make editors ask for approval
- Open your profile menu and go to Team.
- Turn on Editors need approval. The option shows when there's more than one person on the team, and only the owner can change it.
From then on, editors no longer see Schedule or Publish now: they have Send for approval instead.
Even with this option off, anyone who isn't a client can press Send for approval in the editor when someone else can approve.
Send a post for approval
- Prepare the post as usual and choose the day and time.
- Press Send for approval.
The post stays as a draft, marked Waiting for approval (the calendar shows "to approve"). Owners and clients who can see the brand get a notification in Notifications.
Approve or ask for changes
- Open the post from the calendar or from the notification.
- Press Approve: it's scheduled for the chosen day and time.
- Or press Ask for changes, write what should change and press Send back. The note is required.
Whoever sent it gets a notification with your decision. If you asked for changes, they see Changes asked with your note; they edit the post and send it again.
If the time has passed
You can't approve a post whose time has already passed. Ask for changes with a note so they pick a new time. Approving also checks your plan's limits and the brand's daily post limit.
