Comment-to-DM automations

When someone comments a keyword on your post, Coolposts sends them a private message, for example with the link to a guide, and can also reply publicly under their comment. It works with Instagram and Facebook and is included in the paid plans.

Create the automation

1. Open Inbox and switch to the Automations tab.
2. Press New flow and choose Send a link to whoever comments a keyword. It comes filled in as an example; change whatever you like.
3. Choose the Account and, under Post, one post or Every post. You can choose a post that is still scheduled: the automation starts once it's published.
4. Under Keywords, type one or more, separated by commas. If you leave it empty, it answers any comment.
5. If you like, write the Public reply under the comment, for example "I've sent it to you by private message!".
6. Under Then, write the private Message. You can add an Image and a Link button.
7. Press Turn on.

How keywords match

Coolposts looks for whole words or phrases and ignores capitals and accents. If the keyword is "guide", it answers "Guide please" but not "guided".

The private message

• Type {username} in the text and it's replaced with the person's name.
• The link button goes through a Coolposts short link, so you see the clicks in the automation and in Bio page › Short links.
• The networks allow one private reply per comment, within 7 days. To send more messages, the person has to answer first: see Multi-step flows.

Don't repeat the same person

Under Same person again after, choose how long before someone can get the message again: Every time, 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week or 30 days.

How long it takes

It only answers comments that arrive after you create it. It usually answers within a few minutes. On posts more than a few days old, it can take up to an hour.

Keep track

Each automation shows how many people started it, the messages sent, the link clicks and any failures. Turn it on or off with its switch, or press Edit or Delete. In the inbox, comments answered this way no longer show under Needs reply.
