Hashtag tracker
Track a hashtag on X for up to 30 days: posts, interactions and who's using it.
The hashtag tracker reads the posts on X that use a hashtag every hour, for as long as you choose, and tells you how many there are, how much engagement they get and who's using it.
Start tracking a hashtag
- Connect the brand's X account in Channels, if it isn't already. The tracker uses that account.
- In the side bar, open Hashtags.
- Press the first button (the Networks menu) and leave only X ticked.
- Type the hashtag, with or without the #. Letters, numbers and _ only.
- In How long, pick 1, 3, 7, 14 or 30 days.
- Press Start tracking.
It counts posts made from the moment you start tracking, without reposts. Each reading collects up to 300 new posts and updates the numbers of the ones it already has.
What you see
Each hashtag has a card with its status (Running or Ended), its posts and its interactions. Click a card to see the details:
- Posts and Interactions (likes, replies, reposts and quotes).
- People posting and Potential reach: the followers of everyone who used it, added up.
- A chart of posts per hour (if you track it for 1 day) or per day. Hover over a bar to see its interactions.
- Top posts, Top accounts and Latest posts, with a link to open each one on X.
Stop or delete
- Stop ends the tracking now. The posts it collected stay.
- Delete removes the hashtag and its posts.
Limits per plan
The hashtag tracker is part of the paid plans. Each brand can track up to 2 hashtags at a time on Starter, 5 on Pro and 20 on Custom; ended ones don't count.
If you connected X by signing in, without developer keys, every post read counts against a monthly allowance: 300 on Starter, 1,000 on Pro and 3,000 on Custom. The page shows how many you've used. When it runs out, tracking on X picks up again on the 1st. With X connected on your own developer keys there's no allowance.
