Account security
Two-factor sign-in, signing in with Google, and changing or recovering your password.
Your Coolposts account opens every network of your brands, so it's worth protecting. Here's how to turn on two-factor sign-in, sign in with Google, and change or recover your password.
Turn on two-factor sign-in
With it, after your password Coolposts asks for a code from an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy…). If someone gets your password, it isn't enough to get in.
- Click your name at the bottom of the side bar and open Personal information.
- Under Two-factor sign-in, press Turn on, enter your password and press Continue.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (or type the key shown next to it).
- Type the 6-digit code the app shows and press Turn on.
- Save the 10 backup codes with Download or Copy and press I've saved them. They're only shown this once.
Each backup code works once, in case you lose your phone: when signing in, press Use a backup code. We email you each time one is used. New backup codes makes ten new ones and the old ones stop working. After five wrong codes in a row, you have to wait 15 minutes.
To switch it off, press Turn off and enter your password and a code from the app or a backup code. We email you when it's turned on and when it's turned off.
Continue with Google
On the sign-in screen, Continue with Google signs you in with your Google account. If you already have a Coolposts account with the same email, it's linked to it. If two-factor sign-in is on, you're still asked for the code.
If you created your account with Google, you don't have a Coolposts password yet: in Personal information, press Set password to choose one and also sign in with your email. Until then, changing your email or turning on two-factor sign-in doesn't ask for it.
Change your password
In Personal information → Password, enter your Current password and a New password (at least 10 characters) and press Change password.
If you forgot your password
- On the sign-in screen, press Forgot password?.
- Enter your email and press Send the link.
- Open the link in the email (it works once and expires in an hour), choose the new password and press Save and sign in.
A new password doesn't skip two-factor sign-in: you're still asked for the code.
